Not every day can be smooth

Yesterday was a tough one. Not for any specific beats or bad play - but because I wasn't able to get anything going. It seemed like every tournament I played I was walking with two left feet. I would get to the mid stages of most of the MTTs and as I got deeper I would run into a cooler with less than 20bbs and be out just like that. I think my biggest strength is playing a stack 30-40bbs because I am able to accumulate chips against weak players in and around the bubble. The problem with yesterday was that I was never able to get into that spot. I played 13MTTs yesterday and had only one cash. I was down $223.80 and the only cash I had was to get into FTOPS #1 in the upcoming series. When does the new FTOPS start?? How about the worst possible day...The Superbowl! I know that FullTilt is an international site and they have to cater to people all over the world, but starting your biggest poker series on the biggest sports day of the year in North America has to be a mistake. February 6th is by far my favourite sports day of the year (unless the leafs somehow make the playoffs one of these years) and its too bad but I will be missing event #1.

Regarding yesterdays play, there weren't any horrendous hands that I can go over to explain how I bricked out on 12 mtts that aren't bad beats to bore you with. I am just glad that I was able to win that seat to get something positive out of the day.

I am playing again today and will be studying a bit on TournamentPokerEdge.com to get some new ideas. I got the membership earlier this week but haven't spent more than 2 or 3 hours on the training videos. I'd really like to continue the success for the month and get a couple more tourney wins under my belt.
